L’Écrin du LacLe Barcarès
The harbour at Cap Coudalère, between lagoon and mountains

Your stay

Between lake, sea and mountains

Cap Coudalère sits between the Salses-Leucate lagoon and the Mediterranean, a short drive from the Pyrenees. Here is what you need to plan your stay: beaches, restaurants, activities, day trips and practical information about the village and its surroundings.

Source. L'Écrin du Lac welcome books (Triplex T4 and Duplex T2), provided by the owners — general information about the village and its surroundings, valid for both apartments. Instructions specific to each apartment appear on its own page rather than here.
Le Barcarès & Cap Coudalère

You are in a lively, family-minded neighbourhood — busy in summer, peaceful out of season. Everything is within walking distance: shops, restaurants, pools, events and walks along the water.

In Cap Coudalère

Parc Dominica
A green enclave at the heart of the Mont Canigou development, whose colourful architecture was designed by the Dutch architects Knoop & Nieuwveld.
Les Caganots
A wild stretch of coast with the lagoon's characteristic flora — a quiet spot facing the water and the Corbières hills.
La plage de Cap Coudalère
A watersports favourite for windsurfers, paddleboarders and foilers; expect a skyline of coloured sails.
Le Môle
A hexagonal house at the tip of the harbour, emblem of the peninsula and once the little harbour office.
L'Île aux oiseaux
Reachable on foot depending on the water level; home to little terns, and closed during the nesting season.
Le Clown
A street-art mural by the artist Prooz — a splash of fun and good humour.

In Le Barcarès

Site naturel des Dosses

North of Le Barcarès, a natural stretch of pines and dunes protected by the Conservatoire du Littoral. Local wildlife, red squirrels in particular.
